Captain Boyle Honoured at AGM by C-Group
C-Group members Shane, Shane, Therese managed to grab former Captain Boyle this evening and present to him a small token of appreciation for all the years of Service he has given to members of Naas Cycling Club’s C-Group over the years. Always timely in posting routes and measured in terms of distance, gradient and difficulty he will be sadly missed though we hope his legacy continues. C-Group has always been the gateway for members to further their cycling goals.
The C-Group is one of the core groups that make up Sunday spins in Naas Cycling Club. This friendly and welcoming group is designed for even and balanced pace for those expecting a moderate challenge to a Sunday cycle.
The group’s winter charter is currently being revised and under development by the incoming Captain Shane Kennedy – It promises to be equally suitable for members for people in the club returning to cycling or for beginners looking to increase their mileage and pace. The group’s motto of “No one gets left behind” always rings true and new members are always welcome to join for new and exciting Sunday adventures.
For Captain Boyle, our rear admiral, he said that he was looking forward to some time away from route planning things other than weekly routes.
Incoming Captain Kennedy commented: “Filling John Boyle’s boot’s will be a tough act to follow, but I am open to the challenges of managing one of the most established groups in the club and I am looking forward to continuing with his work. I hope to see some new faces, especially those progressing from our Saturday groups and looking forward for them to make the transition into the group and becoming regulars.”
